An introduction to OCBs
Applications on The OASIS have an extra dimension, quite unlike apps on any other project or framework.

The TL/DR is - your app is visible as a moon, planet, or star inside of the OASIS omniverse.
This celestial body or OCB grows as your app grows in size, users, and positive effect, and will be discoverable directly from cyberspace.

Users will be able to literally fly to it, from inside the OASIS omniverse. Creating an equal-opportunities landscape for app discovery, with the only hierarchy being merit.

How it works
Due to the uniformity of the OASIS architecture, which features the ultimate generic data object, Holons, all applications built on The OASIS have a standardised measurement system.
Meaning it is possible to take two completely different OASIS applications and see which one is bigger based on the size of its data transactions and other generic criteria.
We visualise this as Moons, Planets, and Stars inside of a cyberspace ontology.

The evolution of an OCB.
As the application grows in users and activity, it scales up to a larger moon, graduates to a planet, then to a star, and then increasingly large stars.
This is done in levels - starting with Level 1 and scaling up - creating a new type of gamification - watching your Celestial Body grow, and competing against other celestial bodies.

Level 1-
Moon

Entry level OCB - limited users, data volume, Karma score.

Level 99-
Planet

An application that has grown with a larger user base and more activity.

Level 999-
Star

A fully established application that has made significant strides and is starting to shine.

The First Celestial Bodies of The OASIS

As we roll out our documentation, wizards and tools, we will welcome you to create your own Celestial Bodies on The OASIS - which will be fully interoperable across web2 and web3 by default and with powerful scalability and performance attributes.

However, the 'foundational' Celestial Bodies are the ones which we've been building out over the years and are numbered as follows:

OCB-5:
HoloNET
Bridges .NET to Holochain
OCB-4:
Avatar
Modular identity system spanning web2 + web3
OCB-3:
AR World
Phygital metaverse
OCB-2:
Nuva Seva
Web3 standard for holonic enterprises
OCB-1:
STAR
No/low code OCB generator

OCB-3
Our World
A phygital metaverse for mobile

OCB-1
STAR

Build your own OCB

Anyone will be able to build a Celestial Body on The OASIS. Whether you're a developer or a visionary, The OASIS framework is open to anyone who wants to create a super-dApp spanning both Web2 and Web3, with its own place in The OASIS omniverse. Explore, build, and contribute to an ecosystem where growth is not just about numbers but also about making a net positive impact on the world.
